Employment Tribunal Fees

Changes to Employment Tribunals – RCM Protects Members

From July the Government is making it more expensive to lodge a case at an Employment Tribunal.  The total fee to be paid in each case will be over £1000.  This is clearly designed to discourage employees taking cases against employers.  However members of the RCM will not have to pay these fees because we will provide interest free loans to RCM members to cover any and all fees in employment cases where we are representing.  The fee will be reclaimed from the employer in the event of a successful outcome. Where the claim is settled on a lump sum basis, or otherwise concluded without full payment of fees, (subject to any waiver by the RCM) the sum incurred in fees will be the first call on the amount recovered and the balance will be the member's compensation. No repayment shall be due from the member if the claim is lost or discontinued.

This extends further the benefits of RCM membership, making sure our members are not discouraged from pursuing their rights.
